New Indoor Baseball Training Facility for Local Clubs
All-weather baseball training facility now open!
A new all-weather baseball training facility is now open and ready for use at Kevin Lythgo Reserve in Traralgon, thanks to funding from the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today welcomed the new facility, supported by over $121,000 from the Labor Government’s Latrobe Valley Authority Community and Facility Fund, as local clubs came together to test their skills in the new batting cages.
The upgrade will benefit players from all age groups and levels, with baseball clubs from Traralgon, Morwell, Moe, Sale and Churchill set to access the new facility.
The new facility features a pitching machine, synthetic turf flooring and sports grade netting – providing local baseball players with a high-quality training facility no matter the weather.
A large number of local contractors and suppliers were used during the construction of the facility including BJ Concreting Traralgon, Solomon’s Flooring Traralgon, Cummins Excavations, SignCo Traralgon, Eastern Constructions and more – boosting local jobs and supporting regional businesses.
Over 160 community projects have now been realised thanks to grants totalling more than $14 million from the Victorian Government through the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community and Facility Fund.
