Phillip Island Contemporary Exhibition Space to feature carefully selected new artists in April 2023Following on from the success of the initial Hoard - a Pop Up exhibition on the hoarding of the Cowes Cultural and Community Centre development, 28 new artworks have been unveiled. By news@gippsland - 12th October 2022 - Back to News In conjunction with Phillip Island Contemporary Exhibition Space Inc. (PICES), 14 artists feature their works which will be displayed until April 2023. PICES President Sandra Peeters noted just how important this project is. "PICES is delighted to have worked closely with council and artists from Bass Coast and beyond to curate this exhibition on the hoarding outside the new Cultural Centre development."

The Hoard project Stage two continues Bass Coast Shire Council's innovative and supportive approach to Arts and Culture in Bass Coast and augurs well for an exciting future for the new Cowes Cultural and Community Centre and the enjoyment of our community and visitors to the Island." Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Michael Whelan, said that this project continues to create a real point of interest in Cowes while construction is underway on the new Cowes Cultural and Community Centre." "This project is such a great collaboration. Working with PICES, the next 14 talented artists and local business Archisign to create an outdoor exhibition that is inspiring and thought provoking really showcases the extent of talent in our region," Cr Whelan said.
