Shire Seeks Information On Flood Losses

East Gippsland Shire is anxious to get details of financial losses suffered by businesses in the region as the result of the floods.

By East Gippsland Shire Council - 4th July 2007 - Back to News

Manager economic development and tourism Brett Lynn said the Shire wanted to compile an economic impact assessment.

"We need information quickly so we can begin securing whatever government assistance is available," he said.

"It is important for us to be able to put together an accurate picture of financial losses and we are keen to hear from all businesses including those in tourism, retail, and rural."

Mr Lynn said information would be collated to provide an overall assessment of the economic impact.

"It will not be ‘business specific’ and all information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence," he said.

Mr Lynn said the information should given to Alison Westwood either by phone on 5153 9631 or by email to alisonw@egipps.vic.gov.au.
