Victorian Nationals and Liberals pledge to connect towns with $40M funding from Country Towns Water Supply and Sewerage Program
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O'Brien says more people in country towns will be connected to town sewerage and water supply under a $40 million plan by The Nationals and Liberals in government.
Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O'Brien, also the Shadow Minister for Water, said the Small Towns Water and Sewerage Fund, would allow eligible water authorities to receive dollar-for-dollar funding to install town sewerage or potable water supplies in smaller communities. "This is a great fund that could benefit towns in Gippsland South seeking to be sewered including Fish Creek, Dumbalk and Sandy Point."

Support growing for communities
Mr O'Brien said, "I've seen business plans in places like Sandy Point stall due to septic issues - under this fund sewerage infrastructure could be installed for the whole town alleviating that problem."
"In this day and age a lack of potable water and sewerage infrastructure should not be holding back our small towns. This is a real solution from The Nationals to support growing communities in our small towns." Mr O'Brien concluded.
