Bass Coast Shire Council, in conjunction with local recreation reserve committees, funded the ‘Mobile Fun Box’.

"The ‘Mobile Fun Box’ is a portable skate ramp that can be easily transported from one location to another and provides a number of ramps, jumps and bars that can be used by skateboards, scooters and BMXs.

It will be shared between reserves in Grantville, Corinella, Coronet Bay, Bass and Newhaven for six weeks at a time.

Council’s Acting Community and Economic Development Director, Antoinette Mitchell, said the project aimed to provide increased opportunities for youth from the Waterline area to become more physically active by providing several multi-use facilities in the six towns.

"The proposed multi-use facilities are designed to increase unstructured recreation opportunities through the provision of the ‘Mobile Fun Box’ skate ramp that will be placed at recreation reserves on a rotational basis," Ms Mitchell said.

Council’s skate parks supervisor, the YMCA, will provide supervision and education for the first week the mobile park is in use.

The YMCA will monitor behaviour, gauge user statistics and educate users on the proper use of the facility.
