Stimulate your child’s creativity with Gallery art classes‘Mini Masters’ is a monthly Saturday afternoon art program at Latrobe Regional Gallery. By Latrobe City Council - 29th November 2005 - Back to News ‘Mini Masters’ is a monthly Saturday afternoon art program at Latrobe Regional Gallery designed to give children aged 6 to 12 years of age, a stimulating art experience.
Gallery Director, Louise Tegart, said that children can discover the wonderful exhibitions on display, and create works based around appealing connected themes making the exhibitions entertaining and interactive for young art viewers.
"In December there will be two fantastic activities held as part of the Mini Masters program. On Saturday 10 December the activities are inspired by the current exhibition ‘Variations in a Serious Black Dress’ by Dani Marti.
"Using basic loom weaving techniques, children will have the opportunity to create their own Dani Marti inspired artwork using various recycled materials such as nylon ropes, baling twine and rags. The session runs from 2pm to 3pm and the cost is $6.60 per child, and includes all materials," Ms Tegart explained.
"Kids will thoroughly enjoy themselves during a Christmas creations workshop on Saturday 17 December. They can make various decorations out of recycled materials and create unique gift wrapping items using an array of art techniques. The session runs from 2pm to 3pm and the cost is $6.60 per child," Ms Tegart said.
"The workshops are flexibly designed to either become a regular monthly activity for children or as an occasional fun activity. Whilst the children learn about art with professionals, they can gain their inspiration from the current exhibitions, get creative and make new friends," Ms Tegart concluded.
Bookings for the workshops can be made on 5128 5700.
