East Gippsland To Be Known

East Gippsland has become ‘Naturally Magic’ following this evening’s launch of a new regional branding concept.

The new term is designed to emphasise the role nature plays in the region and highlight the ‘magic’ experiences on offer to people who visit, live or invest in the region.

The brand was developed by specialist image consultants who worked with regional business and community organisations and East Gippsland Shire Council over a twelve-month period.

Launching the new concept in Bairnsdale Mayor Cr Mendy Urie challenged the regional business community to make full use of the new branding.

"Promoting East Gippsland promotes your business and the more that people visit, migrate or invest in the region, the more your business will prosper," she said.

"We also encourage government agencies and community groups to make effective use of the brand."

A major new web site www.discovereastgippsland.com.au that uses the ‘Naturally Magic’ brand was also launched at the function.

Cr Urie said that in the last decade the Internet had revolutionised the way we do business, the way we get information, the way we learn and the way we live.

"Without a persuasive and informative website you can’t have an effective marketing campaign" she said.
