Federal coalition and Russell Broadbent delivering to Regional Connectivity Program boosting connectivity for Gippsland
After a five-month delay, the Albanese government has confirmed the delivery of Round 2 of the Coalition's Regional Connectivity Program (RCP).
Member for Monash, Russell Broadbent said this investment in communications infrastructure is a game changer for the Monash electorate and builds on the Coalition's extensive investment in broadband and mobile connectivity in regional Australia. Monash faces some unique geographic challenges and I know how critically important reliable, and quality mobile phone and internet coverage is to local residents.

Funding announcement
Mr Broadbent said, "I am delighted to have worked hard with our community to help secure funding for Noojee and Walkerville. Noojee will receive $941,200 to deploy a new Telstra macro mobile site that will provide improved coverage to the Noojee area. Also, Walkerville will receive $462,450 for a new Telstra macro cell mobile site which will improve handheld coverage to the area."
"These projects were announced by the Coalition before the election and now the eager constituents of Noojee and Walkerville, who have been in regular contact with my electorate office, can be assured that these projects will be delivered." Mr Broadbent said.
Regional connectivity
Shadow Minister for Communications, Sarah Henderson, said this investment of $137 million including $69 million for 34 projects in Northern Australia under the Connecting Northern Australia initiative builds on the $117 million the Coalition delivered under round 1 of the RCP.
"These regional connectivity projects are vital for families and businesses across regional, rural and remote Australia." Senator Henderson said.
