Book a Croque Monsieur in Australia and you get a group of talented musicians who will By Latrobe City - 19th October 2010 - Back to News perform at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre on Sunday 7 November.
Latrobe City’s coordinator performing arts and venues, Kathleen Roberts, said that one of their shows takes the audience through the world of Fellini, the circus, the burlesque, Paris cabaret and eastern European gypsies.
"Croque Monsieur‘s repertoire is influenced by Balkan, Calypso, Dixieland, Mexican, Tango, Klezmer, Arabic and Latin music. They have the natural ability to make each style their own, blending genres to form a crossover that defies definition.
"Croque Monsieur has all that is best about Melbourne. It is fun, eclectic and original, made up of highly skilled and creative people that transcend boundaries and make you dance. The compulsive rhythms and ever-changing dynamics of this high-energy outfit entice and invite people out of their chairs. For those willing to give up any expectation, the rewards are great," Ms Roberts explained.
This show is the final in the 2010 Café Culture Series which is proudly presented by Latrobe Performing Arts in conjunction with Gippsland Acoustic Music Club.
Croque Monsieur will perform on Sunday 7 November at 7.30pm at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre. Refreshments will be available from the bar at 6.30pm. Tickets are available from the box office on 5176 3559.
