GippsDairy has received funding from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) to run two Gippsland Grows Green Grass groups in Gippsland. The project aims to give participating dairy farmers skills in managing on-farm change related to increased pasture production and fertiliser decisions via mentoring, farmer discussions and expert advice. The program runs over 12 months and involves a combination of one-on-one visits and learning group sessions on farm. Each group will be facilitated by an experienced agricultural consultant. More? Get smarter about fertiliser use

The latest Fert$mart program will roll-out in the Tarago catchment from November to March, offering farmers in Labertouche, Jindivick, Drouin West and Poowong the chance to improve the efficiency and profitability in fertiliser use. Participants must commit to a farm visit of up to four hours during which soil samples will be taken; two workshops of four hours each (to be held in February and March) and a follow-up farm visit to discuss implementation of the Fert$mart plan.
