The Bass Coast Shire Community Forum held on Saturday, February 10 in Inverloch saw community members and council representatives discuss a wide range of issues.
Over 30 community members attended the forum. Some of the topics discussed include the proposed Heritage Overlays, Raise the Ripple Project, New Year’s Eve in Inverloch, plans for the Inverloch Foreshore and its footpaths, rubbish, the Cuttris St car park and the Inverloch boat ramp.
The Council also released an Inverloch Community Profile. The profile details such statistics as current population density, estimated population by 2030, average house prices and average water consumption. The profile is available on Council’s website at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au and from all its Customer Service Centres.
Bass Coast Mayor new GLGN Chairman
Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Neville Goodwin has been elected as the new Chairman of the Gippsland Local Government Network (GLGN) for 2007.
The announcement was made at the first meeting of the year in Rosedale. The GLGN focussed on preparing an action plan to implement the Gippsland Regional Development Strategy, which was developed by the group last year.
The Strategy aims to improve the economic, environmental and social outcomes for Gippsland’s communities.
The GLGN is comprised of Mayors and officers from all Gippsland councils.
