Sheep School Is In For Wool And Prime Lamb ProducersThe Department of Primary Industries and South West TAFE invite prime lamb producers to attend the Victorian Sheep School at Glenormiston on 10th and 11th July. By Department of Primary Industries - 6th June 2007 - Back to News The Victorian Sheep School offers an exceptional opportunity for wool and prime lamb producers and others involved in the sheep industry, to increase their knowledge and skills and hear some of the best guest speakers available.
This unique school offers participants the benefits of a blend of science and practical hands on sessions. A range of guest speakers and presenters will take participants on a two-day journey on how to improve profitability and to better understand their core business.
The program covers new research findings, futuristic applications and fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for making money from running sheep.
Highlights include a bus trip to a prime lamb enterprise, and many interesting speakers such as DPI’s James Whale, who will give a presentation on the latest findings from the Lifetimewool program, followed by a practical ‘hands-on’ session that will focus on managing the ewe for her lifetime.
A formal dinner will also form part of the program and will be followed by a presentation from the highly regarded Lyn Sykes, who will tackle the tricky topic of succession planning.
Never before has such a program been offered with a broad cross-section of topics, all focused on the Victorian sheep producer. Participants can expect to go home with a bundle of tools and ideas to help improve their farming enterprise.
