Traralgon School children arrive at Gippsland Heritage Park

Traralgon School children spent the day investigating the Gippsland Heritage Park

By Roy Wyss - 12th May 2001 - Back to News

Several Coaches carrying School Children from Traralgon arrived at 10am on Friday 11/5/01 and spent the day investigating the Gippsland Heritage Park. The Park is an ideal media to show these children how life was in the "old days". It showed how the people lived and the homes that they occupied. They were treated to a display of the art of Woodturning and visited the Local Store. They had lunch and were delighted when they visited the Ceramic Demonstations as Mrs Wyss, demonstrating how ceramics are produced and painted, gave each of them a small ceramic gift. Mr Wyss made a mistake late in the afternoon by writing the name on the item, I say mistake as the previous recipients were told by these students and they rushed back to have there gift marked as well. They queued in front of Mr Wyss and he laboriously plowed through them and just managed to complete the task in time for the coaches to return them to Traragon. The gifts 120 of them were donated by Mr and Mr Wyss.
