Search for new Latrobe CEO to start immediately

Latrobe City’s Mayor, Councillor Graeme Middlemiss, said the process of advertising for and appointing a new Chief Executive Officer for Latrobe City would begin immediately.

The selection process follows Richard Hancock’s announcement of his appointment to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the City of Ballarat. Mr Hancock will be taking up his new position on 17 May.

"We will be undertaking an exhaustive process over the next few weeks to ensure Latrobe City attracts and selects a new Chief Executive Officer with the expertise and skills to continue driving the organisation forward," Cr Middlemiss said.

"Latrobe City is an attractive regional municipal appointment for a prospective Chief Executive Officer. Its citizens have overcome enormous structural change in key employment areas to emerge as a stronger more robust community.

"The municipality has a sense of worth and displays considerable talent and vision that will certainly appeal to those seeking satisfaction and growth in their chosen career path.

"As such we expect to attract a strong field of dynamic and experienced leaders as candidates for the Chief Executive Officers position," Cr Middlemiss said.

"Latrobe City has benefited from Mr Hancock’s considerable experience and energy over the past three years, and my fellow Councillors and I sincerely wish Mr Hancock the very best in what is considered a more senior appointment and furtherment to his career," Cr Middlemiss said.

"Mr Hancock will continue in his role as Latrobe City’s Chief Executive Officer prior to taking up his position in Ballarat," Cr Middlemiss added.
