Local water tank transformed into vibrant mural honouring Johnsonville Fire Brigade and community resilienceA graffiti-covered Tambo Upper water tank is now a vibrant mural celebrating local firefighters, resilience, community pride and bushfire recovery, thanks to Simon White, Johnsonville Fire Brigade and Council. By news@gippsland - 27th June 2025 - Back to News East Gippsland Shire Council is proud to have worked collaboratively with local artist Simon White, the Johnsonville Fire Brigade, and Jarvis Norwood Constructions to transform a once graffiti-covered water tank in Tambo Upper into a vibrant public artwork.

It has already become a talking point among residents and visitors, offering both aesthetic value and a strong message of community spirit. A spokesperson for the Johnsonville Fire Brigade said the project has breathed new life into the site. "We wanted to do something that would lift spirits and turn an eyesore into a landmark. Simon's mural has done just that." Council acknowledges the essential support of Jarvis Norwood Constructions in providing logistical assistance throughout the project. The hope is that the newly transformed tank now stands as a lasting symbol of resilience, community pride, and the power of collaboration while also deterring vandals.
