Free digital arts workshops to be held across shire

Wellington Shire Council is inviting local youth to attend free digital art workshops being held across the shire as part of the Digital Arts Tour - a state government initiative for young people under the Project Wot.tha banner.

Aspiring graphic artists, web-users and ‘chatters’ interested in computer graphics and online communication stand to benefit from the workshops being held throughout January, which include free graphic design tutorials and free lunch.

The works produced will then be featured in an online art show. Workshop dates and locations are:

Said Wellington’s Mayor Peter Gault: "The Digital Arts Tour is a great opportunity for all of our young aspiring, amateur and expert graphic designers to take a look, have a go and learn some new skills."

"Wellington is home to some extremely talented young people and the council is very pleased to be supporting these interactive workshops to assist them in enhancing their skills. Digital media and design is a growth area of activity that can be developed locally and possibly evolve into productive interests that may create career paths locally for our younger residents."
