Major community sports upgrade
The long-standing yet flood-prone previous facility has been demolished, paving the way for a new Multipurpose Pavilion featuring change rooms for use by football, netball, cricket and boxing clubs, a kitchen, a social space and a boxing gym.
Local company Langden Construction is undertaking the $6.2 million project, which is the most significant capital works project run by Latrobe City Council at the moment and is a testament to the successful partnership of all levels of government.
Funding to undertake this much-needed redevelopment has been received from all three levels of government, including an allocation from the federal government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
