Telephone survey is not ours warns East Gippsland Water East Gippsland Water East Gippsland Water is warning customers that it is in no way connected with a company claiming to be conducting a water quality survey in the East Gippsland region. By Gippsland Water - 5th April 2011 - Back to News Customers have recently been in touch after receiving suspect phone calls from a company asking them about water quality, and in some cases informing them that they have won a water filter which they then get charged for.
Said East Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Les Mathieson: "We would like to assure customers that we are in no way connected with this company. If anyone receives a suspicious phone call like this, we would encourage them to contact Consumer Affairs Victoria on 1300 55 81 81 with as much detail as they can gather.
"We aren’t carrying out a survey anywhere in East Gippsland currently. When we conduct our annual customer satisfaction survey, in July, we always advertise this in the local press. When we carry out customer follow-up calls, the caller clearly identifies themselves as being employed by East Gippsland Water. In neither case is a prize suggested or awarded."
Customers in any doubt about a water-related call can also contact East Gippsland Water’s customer service section on 1300 720 700 to check out the authenticity of the caller.
