Noojee trestle bridge upgrade underway Upgrading the bridge recreation site to boost regional towns and provide safe and better walking trails for visitors and community. By news@gippsland - 21st June 2021 - Back to News The Victorian Government is continuing to promote tourism in regional areas with an upgrade to the Noojee Trestle Bridge recreation site in Gippsland. Specialist contractors have started work on the bridge to repair and rebuild damaged sections.
Noojee trestle bridge will have its upgrade for better and safer facility for the community and visitors, that will help boost the regional towns
Investment for better bridge
Noojee Trestle Bridge is the tallest surviving wooden trestle bridge in Victoria and a popular stop for visitors to the region. This work is part of Victoria's Great Outdoors, a $105.6 million investment in better walking trails, campgrounds, four-wheel drive tracks and visitor facilities.
Boost to regional towns
The program is providing a boost to regional towns by upgrading campgrounds and facilities, creating jobs, supporting local business and attracting more visitors to tourist areas. The Noojee Trestle Bridge site will re-open to the public in August and will remain open until stage two of the upgrade works starts later this year.
In stage two, the carpark and access areas on both sides of the bridge will be upgraded. These works will be finished in time for the term four school holidays. These upgrades will ensure that the Noojee Trestle Bridge will be safe and ready to welcome visitors for many years to come.

Harriet Shing, Member for Eastern Victoria said, "The Noojee Trestle Bridge is a treasured community asset and a popular stop for visitors. The improvements being made to this site will make the visitor experience even more enjoyable."
