2006/2007 Community Grants Announced

Bass Coast Shire Council has announced that $198,487 of community grants will be distributed to local projects and organisations this year.

Annual grants are open to all non-profit community groups and organisations within the Bass Coast Shire the Mayor explained.

"Congratulations to those groups that received a grant.

"There were a great many that applied for funding for worthy causes," he said.

Cr Goodwin confirmed that 96 applications for grants were received, requesting a total of $281,134 in funding.

Council can distribute up to $198,500 under the Community Grants Program.

"Groups applying need to demonstrate how their proposal will benefit residents of the Bass Coast Shire.

"Funding is allocated to those projects which best address the criteria of the program," said Cr Goodwin.
