Four local groups benefit from nappy collectiveMember for Morwell Russell Northe today presented the Latrobe Valley community with nappies collected through the "Nappy Collective Giving Project". By Portal Admin - 1st December 2016 - Back to News Member for Morwell Russell Northe today presented Berry Street, Anglicare Victoria, Churchill Co-operating Churches Emergency Relief and participants of the Kurnai Young Parents Program with nappies collected through the "Nappy Collective Giving Project".
Mr Northe said the Latrobe Valley community should be congratulated for their overwhelming response to the October drive of the "Nappy Collective Giving Project".
"Through the generosity of locals, 1,292 nappies were donated through drop off points at Churchill Pharmacy, Churchill Neighbourhood Centre, Churchill Newsagency and my electorate office in Morwell," Mr Northe said.
"It’s fantastic to see the generosity of locals and I would like to thank everyone that donated and also to the Churchill & District News team who facilitated the three collection points in Churchill."
Mr Northe said four worthy local organisations Berry Street, Anglicare Victoria, Churchill Co-operating Churches Emergency Relief emergency relief and the Kurnai Young Parents Program will each receive 323 nappies as part of the collection.
"These organisations do a marvellous job in supporting young parents who can sometimes find themselves in challenging circumstances, and the donation of these nappies hopefully can make a small positive difference," Mr Northe said
"We’ve had donations from a range of people including parents that know first-hand how difficult things can be when becoming a new parent, and subsequently decided to contribute to the "Nappy Collective Giving Project"."
The next collective will take place in May 2017.
