New Assets & Operations Director for WellingtonWellington Shire Council has appointed Ralf Kastan, presently Acting Chief Executive Officer of South Gippsland Shire, as its new Director Assets & Operations. By Wellington Shire Council - 9th July 2003 - Back to News Ralf, who is due to start his new role in August, brings an impressive 33 years local government experience to the position, plus post graduate qualifications in engineering. He is also a qualified company director. He has spent the last eight years at South Gippsland Shire, progressing from senior management level through to appointments as Director Shire Development, Director Corporate Services and Director Infrastructure.
Ralf is married with two adult daughters and lists reading, music, gardening and bushwalking amongst his interests.
Wellington Shire Chief Executive Lyndon Webb said he was looking forward to welcoming Ralf Kastan to the organisation.
"Ralf has played a leading role in asset management policy, strategy and plan development at South Gippsland as well as in the development of the business excellence framework that led to that Shire taking out the Premier’s Award last year. He enjoys working with the community and is well regarded by community members, councilors and staff.
"I believe we are very fortunate to have secured Ralf’s services. I have no doubt that he will make a great contribution to advancing the work we have done in developing a customer oriented service and in responsibly managing our $1/4 billion of assets."
