Gippsland Harvest Festival To Go Ahead

The annual Gippsland Harvest Festival WILL go ahead on Sunday 10th March 2002 at Powerscourt Country House in Maffra. The Festival is now being organised by the newly formed association GRIP Inc. (Gippsland Regional Information Promotions Inc)

The Gippsland Harvest Festival is held at Powerscourt Country House on the long weekend in March every year. In 2002 this is Sunday the 10th of March from 10 am to dusk. Gippsland’s leading wineries, food producers, restaurateurs, artists and entertainers will come together to celebrate the region’s finest foods, wines, artistic and cultural delights.

The newly formed Gippsland Regional Information & Promotions Inc committee are responsible for the organisation of the event and are confident it will be the biggest and best Gippsland Harvest Festival staged. Chairman of the committee Martin Van Ooyen says “at the public meeting held on 31st July 2001, unanimous support was given to setting up this committee and the association is now set up with appointments to the board being finalised” “The Gippsland Harvest Festival is a unique experience for both the provender’s and the general public. There are a wealth of flavours in Gippsland, the festival is a way to tap into these flavours”

Interested stallholders and entertainers are invited to register their details with the organising committee.

Why not come and celebrate the joy of country living at the Gippsland Harvest Festival? Powerscourt Country House is located on the Stratford Road, near Maffra and is a leisurely 2 1/2 hour drive from Melbourne. There is ample car parking facilities and admission is only $15 per adult and children under 14 are free. If you bring a bus entry fee is $10 per adult (minimum 12 people).
