Groups Urged To Apply For Multicultural GrantsThe Nationals Member for Gippsland Province, PETER HALL, is urging multicultural groups and organisations within the Gippsland Electorate to apply for funding through the Victorian Multicultural Commission Grants Program. By Peter Hall - 28th October 2004 - Back to News Mr Hall said the program aims to address the needs of ethnic communities by encouraging them to celebrate and value cultural diversity.
"The program specifically encourages individuals to manage their own affairs, get involved in their local community and enjoy the benefits available to them," Mr Hall said.
Non-profit organisations are being encouraged to apply for funding through three program categories which include strengthening communities, building community infrastructure and planning.
"I believe our multicultural community groups would benefit greatly from this funding and encourage them to apply," Mr Hall said.
"This funding program gives these community organisations the opportunity to build on their strengths and in turn help create more vibrant, culturally diverse communities."
Applications for the program close on Friday, December 3 at 4 pm. Further information can be found at www.multicultural.vic.gov.au
