Stamp Of Approval For Latrobe Community Health Service Latrobe Community Healthˇ¦s dental health services provided in the towns of Traralgon, Morwell and Churchill has come through with flying colours after being surveyed against the new National Safety & By Russell Northe - 30th October 2013 - Back to News Quality Health Service Standards, Member for Morwell Russell Northe announced today.
Latrobe Community Health Service underwent a full assessment in September. Its report confirmed it met all the requirements of the survey and maintained its accreditation status until the next assessment.
Mr Northe said the accreditation was an outstanding result for the local community.
"Latrobe Community Health Service provides an integrated and co-ordinated approach to the delivery of health services within the Latrobe Valley community to enable people to live healthier, live better, and live longer. Minister for Health David Davis congratulated Latrobe Community Health Service on its achievement, and said the accreditation confirmed that the local community was receiving quality dental healthcare.
ˇ§Patients can be assured the dental service delivered at Latrobe Community Health Service meets the highest standards of quality and safety,ˇ¨ Mr Davis said.
ˇ§The Latrobe community has every reason to be proud of their health service and to have full confidence in the dental services provided.ˇ¨
Hospitals and agencies which undergo accreditation are assessed on a range of key indicators and performances.
Dental services are assessed against seven of the 10 standards of the new National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards which are:
„h Governance for safety and quality in health service organisations
„h Partnering with consumers
„h Preventing and controlling healthcare associated infection
„h Medication safety
„h Patient identification and procedure matching
„h Clinical handover
„h Blood and blood products
Accreditation provides a process of regular assessment and review and is an important driver for safety and quality improvement in our hospitals and agencies.
Accreditation of health services falls under the Australian Health Service Safety & Quality Accreditation Scheme, which assesses health services against the new standards.
