Rosedale community consultation session

Residents of Rosedale and surrounds are invited to attend a free consultation session to learn more about the Gippsland Water Factory project and the wastewater treatment facility planned for Rosedale.

By Gippsland Water - 9th August 2006 - Back to News

The original design for the Gippsland Water Factory included the construction of a wastewater treatment and recycling facility at Maryvale, and a series of pipelines and pumping stations. Following the completion of the project’s planning and design phase, the opportunity to provide a localised treatment solution at Rosedale has been identified.

This consultation session will provide people with an opportunity to learn more about the project, the ongoing environmental program and what is planned for Rosedale. The event’s details are:

Date: Wednesday 16 August

Time: 7:00 – 8:30pm

Venue: Rosedale Multi-purpose Facility

The Gippsland Water Factory will be an innovative wastewater treatment and recycling system to be located in Gippsland. The system will treat up to 35 million litres of domestic and industrial wastewater daily, and provide around 8 million litres of high quality recycled water each day for use by local industry. It will also address the odour from the open channel section of the Regional Outfall Sewer.

"Following a recently completed preliminary planning and estimating exercise, we discovered the best overall option for Gippsland was to introduce two new wastewater treatment facilities – one in Maryvale and one on the outskirts of Rosedale," David Evans, Chair of the Alliance Leadership Team said.

"This consultation session will form part of our ongoing program to keep the community informed," he continued.

The broader Gippsland community is also welcome to attend this session. No RSVP is required.
