The awards, instigated by Gippsland Multicultural Services (GMS), are a unique opportunity to celebrate and recognise excellence in a range of sectors and fields in diversity and inclusive practices in our region, said Mr Northe.

"I commend the GMS for starting these awards, as they see inclusive practice and diversity as being a core part of business, so the awards are open to anyone in the community who shows a commitment to embracing diversity.

"Some examples of who you might nominate could be a business that makes the extra effort to include all members of our community.

"It could also be a staff member of a service provider who has had outstanding success in working with diverse groups from many backgrounds.

"I commend GMS for undertaking this fantastic initiative. Whilst many Gippsland residents have been recipients of the Victorian Multicultural Commission’s annual awards, this also gives the opportunity to spotlight and recognise achievements within the region."
