East Gippsland To Receive Four Commonwealth Games Fish

Mayor Cr Jane Rowe she was thrilled at today’s news that East Gippsland had been given four of the fish from the spectacular Commonwealth Games water parade.

"They relate beautifully to the nature of our region and will make the point perfectly about the East Gippsland lifestyle," she said.

Cr Rowe said the fish would be located in Bairsndale, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota and Paynesville.

"Our next step will be to consult with the local communities about the best and most effective locations for them," she said.

East Gippsland Shire will receive the Sea Bass, the fish for Jersey; Spinner Dolphin, Niue; Whitetip Reef Shark, Solomon Islands, Common Carp, Wales.
