Here Comes The Wedding Party Showing at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon on Tuesday 23 July is the Australian movie The Wedding Party (MA15+). By Latrobe City - 19th June 2013 - Back to News Latrobe City Council’s coordinator performing arts and venues, Kathleen Roberts, said that the film was a laugh out loud crowd pleaser.
"The film focuses on Steve, the youngest son in the gloriously flawed Thompson family. In a bid to save himself from financial ruin, Steve agrees to marry Ana, a Russian woman seeking residency in exchange for a huge sum of cash. Behind closed doors the deal is done, a secret wedding is arranged and in no time life will be back to normal... Until a nosy family friend gets wind of the wedding plans and before sundown the whole Thompson family is gripped by wedding fever.
"What was once a private registry affair is now a fully-fledged spectacle as Steve’s lie takes on a life of its own, and he is more and more consumed by the fear that he has ruined his chance to be with his true love, Jacqui, forever," Ms Roberts said.
"The Wedding Party features an all-star Aussie cast including Josh Lawson, Isabel Lucas, Adam Zwar, Steve Bisley and Essie Davis. It is a comedy caper with heart and ticket sales have been popular already, with the first screening on Monday 22 July sold out," Ms Roberts said.
The Wedding Party will screen at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday 23 July from 7pm. The LPA bar opens from 6pm. Tickets available from the Box Office on 5176 3559.
