Hall Encourages Gippsland Families To Get Active In April

Member for Eastern Region Peter Hall is encouraging Gippsland families to incorporate physical exercise into their daily lives and register for the 2014 Premier’s Active April.

By Peter Hall - 18th February 2014 - Back to News

"It will be a 30 x 30 challenge with all Victorians encouraged to do 30 minutes of physical activity a day for 30 days," Mr Hall said.

"The challenge is a great opportunity for participants to improve their health and well-being, spend quality time with friends and family and also have the chance to win great prizes," Mr Hall said.

A new look and fully mobile website including easy registration and activity tracker has also been developed with the capacity for participants to monitor, chart and compare their activity with other selected registrants if they wish.

"Each individual participant will receive a package of incentives and activity ideas and have the chance to win some great prizes," Mr Hall said.

The challenge also provides an opportunity for teachers to sign up classes or their school with students able to win sporting clinics and sporting equipment vouchers for their school.

"It would be great to see Gippsland schools getting involved and contributing to more Victorians becoming more active, more often," Mr Hall said.

Just by registering every participant will receive the following special offers:

· 10 free YMCA passes

· 15 per cent off at Rebel Sport

· One free child pass to National Sports Museum and MCG Tour

· One free child pass to SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium

· One hour free tennis court hire at Melbourne Park of Albert Reserve

"Registrations are open now and I encourage local families and teachers to check out the website at www.activeapril.vic.gov.au and get involved in this worthwhile challenge," Mr Hall said.
