Telstra Country Wide on board with the Gippsland Innovation FestivalTelstra Country Wide will be supporting this year's Gippsland Innovation Festival in partnership with Latrobe City and the Gippsland Local Government Network. By Telstra Country Wide - 1st March 2005 - Back to News Telstra Country Wide Gippsland’s Area General Manager Jane Oakley said she was delighted to join the list of partners supporting the festival and believed its theme of encouraging and promoting innovation across the Gippsland region was consistent with Telstra Country Wide’s goals.
Mr Paul Buckley, Latrobe City Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the Gippsland Innovation Festival said: "Telstra Country Wide’s commitment to the festival is greatly appreciated. The festival is bringing Business, Community and Government together to encourage and celebrate innovation across the Gippsland region".
The festival which runs over 3 weeks from 27th of April is expected to have a program of over 40 events across the region and has a strong focus on innovation and how it relates to business, community, agriculture, the arts, education and the environment.
Jane Oakley continued "For the first time Telstra Country Wide will help make some of the most popular events accessible to everyone through providing a live video streaming service viewable by anyone throughout Gippsland and beyond from any internet enabled PC".
"We believe this is a great way of not only demonstrating innovation in action but also helping other organisations highlight their achievements and promoting the region to a wider potentially national audience."
Mr Buckley concluded: ‘With Telstra Country Wide’s support we now have another way to promote Gippsland as an innovative region to the rest of Australia. It is great to have them on board’
Telstra Country Wide will also be directly participating in a number of events during the festival including the Latrobe City Webs for Business awards and a forum to be held in Bass Coast Shire, aimed at promoting innovative communications solutions for the real estate sector.
