Mossvale Music Festival,2007The majestic setting of Mossvale Park, with its remarkable aged trees and rolling hills will again host the 2007 Mossvale Music Festival on Saturday 17th March, noon ‘til dusk. By South Gippsland Entertainemnt - 2nd March 2007 - Back to News By popular demand famous American blues/gospel artist, Eric Bibb will return, accompanied by Englishman Danny Thompson, a genius of his instrument and possibly the finest acoustic bass player the world has known.
The 2007 festival coincides with St. Patrick’s Day and to celebrate Kevin Burke, from the seminal Irish bands, ‘Patrick Street’ and ‘Bothy Band’ will play dynamic fiddle alongside the driving energy and delicate guitar of singer ex-‘Battlefield’ band member Ged Foley. ‘The Mammals’ direct from sold-out performances in the USA will explode onto stage with their wild-eyed roots music powered by Appalachian fiddle-banjo alchemy, contemporary lyric poetry and a torrent of dynamic playing.
One of the most ‘in-demand’ Australian bands ‘The Audreys’ will perform. Often described as alt-country pop, South Australia's The Audreys feature the smoky vocals of chanteuse Taasha Coates and a line-up of dapper suited boys on banjo and guitars, violin, double bass and drums. Beautiful musicianship and an unbridled enthusiasm for live performance make their shows unforgettable. Their debut album "Between Last Night And Us" was released in February 2006 to outstanding reviews and ultimately won an ARIA award for Best Folk/Roots release.
To compliment the bevy of renowned international musicians also performing will be some of Australia’s younger talented musicians already on their way to unimaginable careers: CW Stoneking, Jackie Marshall, Liz Stringer, Bill Jackson and Floyd Thursby,
Local food and wine vendors and free car parking compliment the atmosphere as do giant marquees set amongst the historic trees of the park to guarantee the audience a fantastic day of breathtaking music.
