Retail Winners Cool Group of Companies

The winners for the 15th annual Bendigo Bank Gippsland Business Awards were announced at the gala award presentation evening held on Friday night at the Monash University Auditorium in Churchill.

The 2012 Gippsland Business of the Year is Dream-time Wholesale Nursery. Dreamtime Wholesale Nursery also won the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries category.

Dream-time Wholesale Nursery joins other well known Gippsland businesses who have won the prestigious award in previous years. These include Credit Collect, R & M Engineering, Chumba Concept Salon, BRANSTRANS Pty Ltd, Deanmac Emergency Services Pty Ltd, Kiel Industries, Jindi Cheese, Gippsland Business Support, Valley Windows and Patties Foods.

Gippsland identity, Mr Don Di Fabrizio was announced winner of the 2012 Hall of Fame award.

According to Chairperson Graeme Sennett, the Hall of Fame criteria was reviewed during 2012 to enable the awards to highlight either individuals or organisations whose achievements have had a significant and positive impact upon Gippsland.

During the evening, the capacity audience of over 350 people was entertained by ‘The Rat Pack’s Back’. The awards evening was once again a huge success and confirmed its position as the highlight of Gippsland’s business calendar

Yet again, the Bendigo Bank Gippsland Business Awards drew unprecedented interest from businesses across Gippsland.

Chairperson Graeme Sennett said: ‘The diversity and quality of nominations was outstanding, demonstrating that businesses can develop and thrive in a regional environment. The pride the entrants have in their businesses is inspirational as is their passion and commitment to the Gippsland region.

"Selecting award winners from the finalists is extremely challenging, with each finalist being assessed and independently rated by five different judges, across ten judging criteria, and as appropriate receiving site visits or were mystery shopped." He added

Graeme Sennett continued: ‘On behalf of the organising committee I would like to congratulate the winners, finalists and sponsors for their support of the Bendigo Bank Gippsland Business Awards and encourage businesses that were not finalists or did not nominate this year to get involved in 2013.
