Live4Life Baw Baw proudly hosted its annual end-of-year celebration this week in Drouin. The celebration honoured the dedication and impact of its 2025 Youth Mental Health Ambassadors, known as the Crew. The event brought together 35 young ambassadors from seven secondary schools and education settings across the region.

Youth leadership celebration

These students have spent the year developing their leadership, teamwork, and mental health literacy skills to become champions of positive mental health within their schools and peer networks. The celebration featured a vibrant three-part program, including an interactive activities expo supported by local health and wellbeing services, a shared lunch, and a lively trivia session - all designed to thank the Crew for their invaluable contributions throughout the year.

As the year draws to a close, Live4Life Baw Baw is also celebrating several key milestones over the last 12 months including:

  • Hosting the inaugural Gippsland All Crew Day, bringing together youth ambassadors from across the region
  • Delivering Teen Mental Health First Aid training to over 1,400 students
  • Offering eight heavily subsidised Youth Mental Health training sessions to the broader Baw Baw community

Live4Life recognition ceremony

Baw Baw Shire Mayor Councillor Danny Goss commended the program participants and thanked the community for rallying around the program. "This year’s Live4Life Baw Baw Crew can be so proud of the work they have done to promote mental health awareness and initiatives throughout their communities."

"I would also like to thank the schools and sponsors who have joined Baw Baw Shire Council in supporting Live4Life Baw Baw. Without their generous support the program's significant achievements would not be possible," says Councillor Goss.
