Latrobe City Council announces '2025 Latrobe Through Your Lens' photography and video winners

Latrobe City Council congratulates winners of the 2025 Latrobe Through Your Lens competition, celebrating local photography and videography with category prizes and an overall winner highlighted across Council platforms.

Latrobe City Council would like to congratulate the winners of the 2025 Latrobe Through Your Lens photography and video competition. The competition ran for eight weeks and closed in December, inviting photographers and videographers to capture people and places across Latrobe City. Judges selected one winning entry in each category and an overall winner, with all content filmed or photographed locally.

Latrobe City Council congratulates 2025 Latrobe Through Your Lens winners, celebrating local photography and videography with category prizes and an overall major prize of a two-night eco retreat

Latrobe photo winners

Each category winner received a $200 Latrobe City gift voucher, while the overall winner was awarded the major prize of a two-night stay at Callignee Eco Bush Retreat and dinner at Little Prince in Traralgon.
Congratulations to competition winners:

  • Nature: Jess Krekelberg - Gippsland Plains Rail Trail (between Traralgon and Glengarry, near the Latrobe River)
  • Candid Culture: Keely Killeen - Miss Sparkle (Traralgon Railway Conservation Reserve)
  • Architecture: Cathy Tisdale - Loy Yang (an iconic feature of Latrobe City powering Victoria)
  • Local Flavours: Leonie Veitch - SBA Kitchen Cooking Classes (VRI Hall, Traralgon)
  • Overall Winner: Leonie Veitch - Aurora Australis (Coach Road, Moe)

Latrobe City Council Mayor, Councillor Sharon Gibson, said the competition highlighted the talent and creativity in Latrobe City. "The competition let people show off their love of our community, and the quality of entries was very impressive. Our City is full of beauty and these images capture just that. Thanks to everyone who took the time to enter and share their favourite photos of Latrobe City," said the Mayor.

Winning photographers and videographers will be credited each time their images or footage are used. Entries will be showcased across Council's digital screens at Council venues and in a range of print and digital promotional materials.
