Gippsland Water celebrates National Water Week poster winners, honouring young regional artists’ achievements

Gippsland Water announced its National Water Week poster winners, congratulating students for colourful submissions. Four placed in the state competition, with Heyfield Primary School winning $500 for STEM or sustainability projects.

Gippsland Water has announced the winners of its National Water Week poster competition. Managing director Sarah Cumming congratulated the winning students and thanked all entrants for their posters. "Congratulations to the young artists from across the region who were recognised for their colourful submissions. The theme of ‘Water Heroes: Save Every Drop’ acts as a reminder for people to reduce their use and help preserve water resources throughout Gippsland."

Gippsland’s young artists

The local winners also competed in the statewide competition, where four of them went on to place second or third. This is the most successful result for local Gippsland entrants and saw Gippsland Water receive more places than any other water corporation this year.

Gippsland Water winners

  • Goodstart Early Learning Morwell, Collaborative (Early Learning), 2nd place in the state
  • Tom, Home Education (Early Learning), 2nd place in the state
  • Charlotte, Mirboo North Primary School (Foundation)
  • Quinnie, St Michael’s Primary School (Year 1-2), 3rd place in the state
  • Lenny, Mirboo North Primary School (Year 3-4), 2nd place in the state
  • Makayla, Heyfield Primary School (Year 5-6)

Additionally, Heyfield Primary School won the school prize - $500 to go toward science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) resources or a sustainability project.
