By Bass Coast Shire Council - 21st September 2001 - Back to News Thirty local businesses have taken the challenge and are getting into the Grand Prix spirit by taking part in the 2001 Qantas Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix Bass Coast Best Dressed Business Competition.
From Grantville to Inverloch and everywhere in between, local businesses owners and operators are decorating their businesses to reflect the excitement and thrills of the 2001 Qantas Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
"These businesses are creating a welcoming atmosphere for the thousands of visitors expected to flock to Bass Coast for this world class event," said Cr Miranda Sage, Mayor of Bass Coast Shire Council. "Plus, they’re in the in the running for great prizes including tickets to the 2001 Qantas Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix."
Cr John Gains and representatives from both the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and Phillip Island Motor Sports will start judging the competition on Friday 28 September. Winners will be announced at the Council meeting on Wednesday 3 October.
The competition is supported by Bass Coast Shire Council, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and Lombard the Paper People.
