Gippsland Business Awards Finalists

Nominations have closed and finalists have been chosen for the 6th Annual Federation Health Gippsland Business Awards.

Nominations have closed and finalists have been chosen for the 6th Annual Federation Health Gippsland Business Awards.

There was an excellent response to the 2002 awards with applicants coming from all over Gippsland and from a wide range of industries.

The finalists for the Environmental Performance category are Gippsland Water, Kwip Tip Bins in Sale, 90 Mile Beach Holiday Retreat in Loch Sport and OZ Plants in Warragul.

In the Manufacturing/Export category, finalists are Valley Windows and Alternate Dwellings in Morwell, Snowy River Seeds in Orbost and Patties and VEGCO Pty Ltd in Bairnsdale.

The finalists for the Primary Producer category are Lyndale Poultry Farm in Morwell, Narkoojee PTY LTD Glengarry, VEGCO PTY LTD Bairnsdale and High Country Premium Wools of Australia in Omeo.

In the Retailing category the finalists are Daly’s Feed Maffra, Paul the Pieman Yarram, Gippsland Foot Clinic and Penny’s Produce in Traralgon.

The finalists for the Accommodation category are Swan Reach Gardens Tourist Park and Chestnut Hill Country Retreat in Swan Reach, Deja Vu Bed and Breakfast Lakes Entrance and The Sundowner Lodge Guest House & Restaurant in Venus Bay.

In the Hospitality category the finalists are The Wild Lime Café Morwell, Nelson’s of Trafalgar, Yarram Bakery and The Sundowner Lodge Guest House & Restaurant in Venus Bay.

The finalists for the Commerce/Information Technology category are Recruit Solutions Traralgon, Delburn Garrisons Morwell, Gippsland Business Support in Traralgon and Lakes Internet Promotions Lakes Entrance.

In the New Business category the finalists are Redcourt Homestead Bairnsdale, Corinna Carpenter Dental Technician Newborough, Gippsland Natural Trafalgar and Concertos by the Lake in Lakes Entrance.

The finalists in the Service category are Gippsland Business Support Traralgon, Design Right Bairnsdale, Warragul Linen Service in Warragul and Monacellars wines and spirits in Morwell.

Finally, in the Tourism category, the finalists are Prom Accommodation Foster, Wa-De-Lock in Stratford, Old Tyers Store in Tyers and Deja Vu Bed and Breakfast Lakes Entrance.

All finalists will be judged for the 2002 Business of the Year, which will be the most outstanding business from all categories.

Winners of the awards will be announced at the Gippsland Business Awards Gala Dinner evening, which will be held at the Premiere Function Centre in Traralgon on May 3.

Bookings are still being taken for the dinner, with tickets at $55 per head, which includes a 3-course meal. The dinner will be hosted by Denise Drysdale with entertainment by comedian Rod Quantock.
