Invest Gippsland Highlights all the Region has to Offer
Better access to important information about living and investing in the region with updated website.
Locals and visitors to Gippsland now have better access to important information about living and investing in the region, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government’s updated website about opportunities and advantages.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing welcomed the launch of the new Invest Gippsland website which will promote the region’s competitive advantages and thriving sectors, aiming to attract investment from across Australia and the globe.
The website will showcase Gippsland’s liveability to potential new residents considering moving to the region and highlight advantages such as affordability and lifestyle, cost competitiveness and natural attractions.
Originally launched in 2016 to showcase the many investment opportunities across Gippsland, the new version of the site has been made much more user friendly and aims to better reflect the growing sectors in the region.
It will also define competitive advantages for investors including the region’s business environment, industrial and commercial property, competitive workforce, economic and population growth and reliable infrastructure.
Gippsland’s investment opportunities exist across a range of key sectors including, food and fibre, aviation, health and retirement services, education, technology and innovation, advanced manufacturing, energy and resources, professional services and the visitor economy.
The website is an example of how the Labor Government is supporting Gippsland’s growth, including its modern health care system, schools and tertiary education facilities.
The $30 million construction of the Latrobe Valley GovHub in Morwell will house more than 300 workers, creating over 200 new local public sector jobs, while the Government’s $45 million Connecting Regional Communities program has helped launch the Gippsland Digital Plan to help close the digital divide across the region.
The Invest Gippsland page will also be translated into other languages for international visitors. The development of the site has involved consultation with local experts and members of the community across a range of sectors.
