Click and collect available at Wellington shire libraries so bookworms can continue reading during lockdowns
Libraries across Wellington Shire may be closed due to current restrictions, but bookworms can continue reading via the Click and Collect service.
Click and Collect, which has proven popular during previous lockdowns, allows readers to choose books or other library resources by placing them "on hold" via the online catalogue and then later collecting them.
Click and collect is available at all library branches between 10am-4pm, during normal operating hours on weekdays,Sale library is also available 10am-2pm Saturdays but closed on Sundays
Vital service for the community
Wellington Shire Council Mayor Garry Stephens encouraged people to use the service at a time when physically browsing the shelves is not possible. "During periods of lockdown, this has become a vital service for the community and it is much-loved by people across the shire."
"For many people, borrowing and reading a book is a way of taking care of their mental health, whether it is a way of learning or simply immersing themselves in a fictional story. Click and Collect is a way of still being able to access a physical book or other resource while doing so in a Covid-safe manner." Cr Stephens said.
Click and collect feasibility
The Click and Collect service is available at the library branches on their usual weekday opening days from 10am to 4pm, but not weekends.

- Stratford
- Rosedale
- Heyfield
- Yarram
Once the order is made, people can then collect the resources from the corresponding library. Online resources are available at all times, for anyone who has a current library card.
Library users can also call their local branch in Sale, Maffra, Heyfield, Rosedale, Yarram or Stratford, or email librarians at library@wellington.vic.gov.au. Sale library collection is available from 10am to 4pm weekdays, and 10am to 2pm on Saturday. The service is not available on Sunday. No overdue fines apply.
