Your chance to learn more about the Traralgon Growth Areas Review

Latrobe City Council commissioned the Traralgon Growth Areas Review (TGAR) to establish a strategy for the urban development growth options for Traralgon and surrounding district to the year 2051.

The review aims to ensure that there is sufficient land set aside to accommodate long-term urban housing, retail, commercial and industrial requirements in and around Traralgon.

Latrobe City mayor, Councillor Ed Vermeulen, said that planning consultants Hansen Partnership had been appointed to assist Council with the review.

"As part of this process, Latrobe City Council would like to meet with the local community and stakeholders to identify key issues, opportunities, and challenges associated with future urban development.

"Over several days in May, both Latrobe City Council and Hansen staff will be available for consultation sessions either through a workshop or through one-to-one appointments that members of the community can make," Cr Vermeulen said.

"Landowners, interest groups and community members can attend the workshop on the evening of Tuesday 1 May. It will be held at the Traralgon RSL from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. One-to-one sessions can be booked in the evening of Wednesday 2 May (5.30pm to 7pm) or between 9.45am and 7pm on Thursday 3 May.

"I would strongly encourage those interested parties to attend the workshop or book an appointment to discuss in more detail the content of the review. This is the community’s chance to get involved, have a say and make your voice heard about your town’s future," Cr Vermeulen concluded.
