Slow Food Gippsland - Winter Festival 2004

'Slow Food' links ethics with pleasure. In a word: ecogastronomy.

By news@gippsland - 9th August 2004 - Back to News

Slow Food is an international movement with over 80,000 members and is now active in over 104 countries.

Its activities counter the degrading effects of the fast food culture that is standardising taste.  It promotes the beneficial effects of nutritious locally grown food and promotes taste education programs for adults and children.

'Slow Food' works towards safeguarding and promoting public awareness of culinary traditions and customs, and supporting artisanal food producers who make quality products.

It also promotes a quality lifestyle and encourages tourism that respects and cares for the environment.

The Slow Food Gippsland Winter Festival runs between Friday 27th and Sunday 29th August 2004.
