Inverloch Community House Research is underway to try and find a suitable new location for the Inverloch Community House. By Bass Coast Shire - 14th November 2005 - Back to News Bass Coast Shire Council’s Community Services Manager, Neville Kurth, was keen to allay residents concerns over recent reports that the Community House will have exclusive use of the meeting room in the Inverloch Community Centre.
"No decision has been made by Council regarding the relocation of the Community House.
"Any implications to residents and other users of the meeting room would have to be considered before a decision can be made," said Mr Kurth.
Mr Kurth confirmed that Council would undertake an Inverloch Community Meeting Space Audit to determine what community meeting space is available in Inverloch.
"We need to determine what the best options are for the Community House and for the community in general.
"It is possible that this audit may uncover other viable options for the relocation of the Community House," he said.
Mr Kurth acknowledeged that the current location of the Community House was not ideal.
"The location in William Street has poor community access and the Community House cannot offer the desired range of services.
"For the Community House to be viable, a more suitable and visible location needs to be found.
"Council believes that the Community House offers a valuable service to the community and are keen to ensure its continued viability," Mr Kurth informed. Anyone interested in further details on the Community Meeting Space Audit should contact Council on (03) 5671 2211 or (03) 5951 3311.
