Harriet Shing MP: Boosting Safety and Reliability on Main Neerim RoadNow safer, smoother journeys with Main Neerim Road near Neerim Junction completion. By Portal Admin - 12th November 2019 - Back to News People travelling on Main Neerim Road near Neerim Junction now have safer, smoother journeys following the completion of a major rebuild thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
More than one kilometre of new road pavement has been constructed near the intersection of Neerim North Road, benefiting locals and tourists accessing destinations like the Tarago Reservoir, Neerim District Rural Primary School and the popular Alpine Trout Farm.
Main Neerim Road will also receive 2.4 kilometres of road resurfacing to improve the condition of the road.
This upgrade forms part of Regional Roads Victoria’s (RRV) annual planned maintenance program that will see 38 major road rebuilds and 162 road resurfacing projects delivered in Gippsland this financial year.
Other Baw Baw Shire roads receiving upgrades in this year’s program include Willow Grove Road and Tyres-Thomson Valley Road.
More than $57.4 million is being invested to repair and resurface Gippsland roads this financial year as part of the Labor Government’s $425 million maintenance investment in the state’s regional roads.
All upgrades in this program will be delivered before the end of May 2020. Changed traffic conditions will be in place for the safety of workers and everyone travelling on our roads.
