The trail up the Kalimna Hill from the jetty is receiving a long-awaited upgrade with funding secured from the previous federal government.

That's why I have always supported community and local council efforts to secure funding for rail-trails, mountain bike tracks and pathways in our towns." "One of the most popular walks in Lakes Entrance takes people along the Kalimna rock wall and up the hill behind the Kalimna Hotel. The rock wall was built more than 35 years ago and has been upgraded recently to overcome some significant drainage, erosion and undermining issues." "The section up the hill is now being redeveloped to make it safer and more accessible for walkers. It's part of a larger project that received $2.25 million from the previous Federal Government for the Hotel Rd lookout, Rotary Park redevelopment and linking pathways program, managed by East Gippsland Shire Council," said Mr Chester.
