Technology Transfer Helps Businesses Throughout Gippsland

Many Gippsland businesses have been getting help from technology experts from the University.

Thanks to Federal Government Funding (AusIndustry, Innovation Access Program, this service is provided to small businesses for free by the Monash Regional Centre for Information & Communications Technology.

Here are some examples of what they have done so far:

  • Cut Flower Grower: a strategy to help with the flower fade problem which is occurring in their summer crops

  • Meat Grower - A solution to automatically send data on calf growth performance and condition from multiple calf rearers throughout NSW and Victoria to a central database for the export market

  • Murray Cod Grower - develop better monitoring solutions which will assist the company when they move from a pilot plant to full production

  • Plastic Utility Manufacturer - Using inventory management to address the raw material handling, inventory control, product identification and integrated transaction management in a coordinated way to achieve efficient overall management.

  • General Medical Practitioners - a strategy to improve the communication and integration of professional information within the health industry, as well as address the management issues that evolve from this change

  • Fish Processing Plant - developing robotic technology to increase automation which will make tasks less labour intensive
