City of Sale community meeting

Wellington Council’s popular community meetings are coming to Sale

By Wellington Shire Council - 7th June 2002 - Back to News

The next community meeting will be held in the Wellington Room at the Civic Centre from 7pm Tuesday 11 June.

Mayor Malcolm Hole has invited everyone to come along to share their news and views with Councillors and officers on an informal basis.

"These community meetings give everyone the opportunity to meet Councillors and officers in friendly discussion to make sure that we all work together for the benefit of the Shire," said Mayor Hole.

"They form part of a continuing process of consultation and communication with everyone who lives in Wellington."

During the day Councillors and officers take a close look at various Shire projects, visit community organisations and meet key focus groups.

In the evening they attend community meetings to present details of projects and programs, forthcoming events and activities.

"The Sale community meeting will give people the opportunity to learn about the Sale and environs planning scheme, our superb wetlands project around Lake Guthridge and Lake Guyatt and exciting plans for the Port of Sale."

After Sale, the community meetings will move to Stratford on 9 July and Yarram on 13 August.
