Building blitz to hit Gippsland

The Building Commission is warning Wellington builders and owner-builders it will be sending a team of investigators to the Shire as part of a Gippsland-wide blitz in September.

By Wellington Shire Council - 24th August 2005 - Back to News

Wellington Shire’s Acting Municipal Building Surveyor Leigh Collings says he has been informed that the investigators will be checking site signage at the front of building sites and for a copy of the building permit with endorsed plans as required by the new Building (Interim) Regulations.

The regulations apply to current and new building permits.

Mr Collings says it is a timely warning as building practitioners who do not comply would be given a warning and have the details placed on their registration files at the Building Practitioner’s Board.
