The Plan is due to be formally adopted by the Council at a Special Council Meeting on 22 June and will guide its direction for the next financial year and beyond.

From Thursday 20 May a full copy of the ‘draft’ will be available from Wellington Shire libraries and the Council’s Customer Service Centres in Maffra, Sale and Yarram, as well as from the Council’s website www.wellington.vic.gov.au

The deadline for submissions is 10am, 4 June, 2004. These will be considered at the Council Meeting on 15 June, when there will also be the opportunity for people to speak to their submissions.

Said Wellington’s Chief Executive Officer Lyndon Webb: "The Council Plan is a very important document shaping the direction the Shire follows over the coming years. We are therefore keen to ensure that the community has the opportunity to comment on the plan before it is formally adopted by the Council."
