Volunteer Emergency Service Grants AvailableNow open: Funding through the Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP) applications. By Portal Admin - 27th May 2018 - Back to News Local emergency service organisations are being encouraged to apply for funding through the Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP), with applications now open.
Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Melina Bath, said the program was open to the Country Fire Authority, Victorian State Emergency Service and Life Saving Victoria, along with marine search and rescue providers and other organisations identified in the Emergency Management Manual Victoria.
"Volunteers such as our dedicated fire fighters and SES members, for example, are the backbone of our communities and they should be provided with the best equipment and training available," Ms Bath said.
VESEP funding will contribute $2 for every $1 of funding from the local volunteer group up to a maximum of $150,000.00 excluding GST.
"The VESEP grants can be used to fund operational equipment, including new vehicles, trucks, light and medium tankers, trailers, watercraft, vessels and engines, or funding can be put towards minor building improvements," she said.
"Emergency service groups are invaluable to our community and up-to-date equipment, facilities and training help save lives.
"I strongly encourage our local emergency service organisations to apply and will gladly offer my support for anyone doing so," Ms Bath said.
